The DM attitude is not 'too bad for you'. The idea is the boss is much more difficult for 4 players than the boss is against 12. Therefore if you go with 12 players and quickly/easily defeat the boss you are not going to be rewarded as well as the 4 PCs who had to do some serious work to take the boss down. Both parties would receive the same reward, but the individual members in the party that had to work harder are going to be rewarded better individually. Giving everyone one item for defeating a boss removes the challenge to reward equation. The problem I see with this viewpoint, is that players are forced into these large zergs if they want a chance at all for boss gear. Hell, when I was active I'd love to have only 2-3 others with me, but what are we to say sorry clanmates even though we get only 1 run every few weeks no room for you all?

If you have 8 or more players in the clan, ask your DM if you can split into two 4 player boss parties. This way you each have a shot at gear, you won't have 10 guys rolling for 5 items. Problem solved.

Equipment--bug or suggestion?
Either category, I have one for the Full Plate boots dropped by Spider boss. It says they're only usuable by fighter, paladin, or champion of torm. I'd like to suggest that they should be usable by dwarven defender as well. Paladin and champion imply that it's meant for good toons or at least lawful, and dwarven defenders are lawful. Fighters of course, don't have to be anything, so the question is whether this gear was for all of the fighter types and DD and blackguard were forgotten; or assumed they'd already and always have fighter or pally in them as their base, or whether they were meant for good or lawful--with this, I can see why blackguard might not be a valid class. Either way, I'd like to see DD added to the acceptable classes for this gear.
Thanks.

Too bad we couldn't come up with an old tabletop favorite. The girdle of feminity. Changes you from a rooster to a hen in a flash.

lol, i'm glad my silly coment didn't fall on deff ears.... i would love to see gear that is so stupidly single purposed that makes up for the huge nerf bit......i love the idea of making an insainly stupid DD or any other melee char for that matter... i think if the bennies of a piece of gear are good enough then it would inspire "the dumb brute" builds... and the Sellie family has been training retarded casters for generations.......they do however train wonderful melee chars
