So just to throw it out there. This was talked about a long time ago but the powers at be at the time chose not to pursue it. Is there a viable reason to 'not' have clan membership at the PlayerName level? This would make keeping track of who is in which clan a lot simpler. It would also eliminate the 'when is someone who can give me a stone gonna be on?!?' scenarios.

When you join a clan the system marks your player name with a marker that allows all of your alts to be give a clan token automatically.

what he is saying is, rather than having to add each character to the clan. When you add a character it adds the player account. Hence where i am in chimeara when i make a new character it would automatically look at my account to see if or what clan i belong to and give my character the appropriate stone,
I believe part of the problem was that some people didn't want all of their characters to be in clans. in this case i believe that most of those players also have more than one account, if you don't want your character in your clan then just make it on the account that isn't added to any clan..

Ok, I get it now. What if you talked to a static item that verified your player name and position and then gave you the opportunity to add your current toon to the clan?
I've no problem working something like that into the framework. However, I do have one fundamental question about clan membership:
Is the clan recruiting the player or the toon?
This could be presented another way by the question: Should Player A be allowed multiple toon membership within multiple clans?

Or, how do people feel about a recruiter in town that can give a token to any Alt that is over a certain lvl? You choose the clan?

Until the questions presented can be answered properly by current clan members- I do not feel comfortable making any changes to the way things currently perform.

I'm not a clan member but I believe that so far it was not allowed for one player to have alts in different clans. In my opinion that's a good thing and I dont think it should be changed.
Otherwise, I like the suggestion.

I agree Littletall. My gut tells me that if you join a clan, you and all your toons are bound to that clan. If you choose to circumvent this by making a new login under a different name, and posing as a new player just to join another clan with your alt- then that is on you, your concious and the other clans!

I agree. The login should be bound to a clan, so any new character created on that account would receive a clan stone in the newbie castle.
