The Fracture device has stopped working. I put Rock in it does nothing. Please reset the server.

I need to know why.
Resetting the server just to 'fix' something is not the solution.
If anyone is using the fracture device, I need to know what you are placing in it.
Also, those of you reporting a red X... you do not have all the images installed for CEP. You must review the links in the Game Characteristics thread and upate accordingly.
If you do not have the bandwidth, I can make a CD and send it to you.

in the past I've thrown a bunch of chunks of rock in it and all I ever got was a red X. 2 days ago I tried again but just as mardok said, I put a chunk in and nothing happened, not even the usual message that says its crushing etc. I havent put anything else in it in fear of it all turning into red Xs.

Ok. you need the full CEP 2.2. The red X indicates that you do not have the image its stored on.
A chunck of rock can yeild a number of different items so I cant just change the image unless you can tell me what the Red X says as an item. Does it have a name?

I know I'm missing the image, but it doesnt really bother me. I'm pretty sure I have cep 2.2 and I dont feel like reinstalling it just because of this one useless item  the item is called hunk o junk. I'm just saying that I've never put anything else in the fracture device other than chunks of rock. must be my poor luck that I never got anything other than hunk o junk out of it either. |

The device has failed again, not crushing chunks. It was working just fine and then I put a chunk in and it would not register it having moved from my inventory to the device, I closed it and opened it again. When I placed the rock inside this time nothing happened.

there has to be a reason why this occurs. A triggering event if you will.
I have tested this MULTIPLE times adding items to it - both those that you should put in there (chunks of rock) and things you should not (other items) and in all my tests, I get the desired results (e.g. rocks have a chance of producing minerals and junk while other items produce junk).
There has to be a case where something is placed inside that causes the failure or, there is an issue the inventory getting full or something.

Both the Device and the reservoir were empty when I put the chunk in. the only thing that happened was the system seemed to lock up for a bit and it would not register that I had moved the chunk from my inventory into the device. I closed it and when I opened it again the chunk was not there. I checked my inventory and it had not been moved. When I placed it in the second time it registered the move but would no longer do anything.

The fracture device stopped working again. I had successfully crushed about 35 rocks with an average range of success, then it stopped crushing them--I no longer got the "rollers are moving and crushing" message. It let me remove the rocks and put them back in my inventory. I tried waiting a few minutes, and also logged out and returned, but still could not get it to work.

Ok this helps.
Leave it to our diehard C to be a beacon of light an boon to my scrambling brain!
Seems there is a memoery leak or a full inventory. Even though there not longer any items in there, its remembering the number of places (memory) its used.
I will try to retool this script as soon as I get home this weekend. I will also have Kirna reset the server.
