I have been rebuilding Ragnarok. I would like to set it up for testing for a week or so, but I want the creatures to respawn. Could I get the respawn script redemption uses? I put it in the heart beat, yes?
I will post the IP to direct connect to once its up, but I don't see a point unless things will respawn. It will be for lvls 30-40. You will want a party in later areas. It is conceivable that you could solo it since each you can respawn at will with no penelities in the spot you died. But you will need a high lvl rouge, high lvl tank, and a high lvl caster to make it to the end.

Its up and going for testing. It still needs decorations and the last boss, but you can't get to the last boss without a party so that wont be a problem for a while. It is set to reload the mod, when it is empty, I solved the respawn issue, by having it do that. Give it a try with a lvl 30-40 and let me know what you think.

Just fyi, there are loads of respawn scripts around - just use one of them. Basically, most of them work like this: When the monster dies, put a timer on a "respawner" object (you need to have it placed somewhere inside the module). When the time runs out, the script fires off the second part and spawns the monster again. It is always put on the OnDeath part (heartbeat runs every 6 seconds, and since there are loads of monsters around it would flood the server to no end) It needs a "respawner" object to temporarily store the script - the NPC/mob object is destroyed a few seconds after it dies so you can't have the script there, it would delete itself when the object is destroyed. The other option people like is using encounters (they can be set to auto respawn via the toolset I believe) - this option is better in the sense that mobs won't be spawned until players actually step on the encounter, but for some reason I personally like painting the mobs myself better

It is not up at the moment. My wife uses the internet to receive calls for work and I did not want to hog her bandwidth. It will be up every day at night to mornings 5:00 PM MST to 7:00 AM MST all week.
We should find a day that a few of us can log on and try it. I put a lock with a DC of 68 at the start of the boss area. So we will need a good thief, and a tank is always helpful to kill pesky monks. And we might want a monk of our own to kill the clerics. And a high lvl caster to kill bosses.

From the run today I have some notes, Let me know if I need to add or amend any:
- Area transition on the Bifrost bridge is hard to see/use - Make mobs smaller, I think, large mob, no more then 8, medium mob of 5, small mobs of 3. - Tone down the lower guys for greater diversity in mobs and areas. - Beef up the bosses, perhaps add cohorts. - No more then 2 placeables to a square. And no placeables on lines. - Finish building Odin. - Decorate more.
I forget anything?

so after going thru the whole thing, I quite like it. the areas are nice and the mobs arent bad either, there's just too many of them in certain areas. comparing to how hard these areas are, the bosses are somewhat easy. I'd expect the difficulty to be the other way around as for the gear, a few pieces are so-so (for my personal taste) but I love the rest (boots, robes, kama, helmet are awesome. and so are heavy armor, longsword, ragnarok ring, scimi, mace, morningstar and gloves). which of course means they're rather powerful. I dont have much experience with boss gear but they're stronger than anything I've seen (that's before the wipe, after the wipe this means they're probably better than all the other gear put togeather ) so, as awesome as they are, I'd be really surprised if any of them actually makes it in

Thanks. Ill try not to have them change the good gear to much. I just did a redo of a bunch of stuff, about half the stuff on my list. Among them is Heimdall, the first of the Asgard that is encountered. I also put the spawning start at the Bifrost Bridge so you can jump directly to test Heimdall. Is this boss closer to the difficulty that you would expect?

Got the guidelines for builders, and have been re-building. The good news is that the gear is not changing much. It is getting some negatives it did not have before but besides that some of it has become more powerful.
I have rebuilt all the gear and half the NPCs. The rebuilt NPC's are placed from the start of the area to the second floor of the keep. Server will be up all day tomorrow for testing, unless I'm working on it. I am aiming for totally done by Sunday night cause I get tenacious about projects and really should be doing something else, perhaps farming....
