I think he's referring to the near classic picture of a cat on a treebranch with the words "hang in there" (perhaps one of the first of ancient greeting cards and motivational posters) and also the 'kitty poster' in a couple of 'Sarah Connor Chronicles' episodes. For more humor along this line, go to despair.com and look at the poster labelled "give up."
