Sorry guys- I've had so much going on I neglected to tell everyone that I have the server power cycling now (to prevent what occured last time with the hard drive). It will be up this afternoon.  |

I would also like to know that... because the power cycling I know (basically pulling the plug and plugging it back in again) is used only when everything else fails and is definitely NOT good for the hard drive. Have you thought about setting up a duplex RAID-1? It would (most probably) take care of disk failures. |

It definitely wouldn't take care of disk failures, only you'd get data redundancy ^^ - setting up a RAID array, that is. And that's not a bad thing  Also, power cycling can also mean that the machine will turn off and then back on after a set period of time (or on triggers like specific time etc...) |

By power cycling, I mean that I shut it down for a day or so.
Yes, I have thought about RAID and UPS systems.
No, I wont get them- too cost instensive for what we have- unless someone want to contribute.

We (fortunatly) are safe as is RD. I turned her on this morning. We did loose power and I opted to just leave it off throughout the storm. I am grateful that you are safe I am curious however... Is it still down? If not is anyone else having issues connecting? I can't get game spy to log in nor will it allow me to find RD we are still on the same IP correct? i checked what i've got in against |
