I agree fully on the 'on hits', hate 'em. they are a video card and server drain and they are often overpowering. Icicle is a perfect example. When you take it to ToI it cuts the golem fight times by about 50-80% compared to using a top boss weapon like AD. When Tino is in Dis and using an icicle I have to turn down my brightness setting to be able to play for the most part. The Fallen Paladin has that huge dimissal aura on hit. While its not as intensive its more or less on the useless side. As much as we hate the effects of the icicle, its a very popular weapon. As far as it goes I think we are stuck with that one.

I'm tired of holding my hand over half the screen to keep the strobes from blinding me, but why not keep the powers but disable the video effects? Best of both worlds.
I think Great Thunderclap has a similar visual.
Fallen Pally's Dismissal kills off nearby half-spires and mange hounds, but I haven't seen it get rid of anything tougher since its level is 10. Jailers Edge has the similar Banishment which only gets rid of summons, but at level 15.

The main thing about onhit: is just like Bhale says and is a resource drain. Although I would see it as more a drain on the client (player) end visually. If something like this were to disappear we would have to replace it with something. Other thing fun about this is the fact that most people that are exotic users switch to the darkblade as soon as they get the chance.

A problem with my recruiter ring today. I tried to recruit Tassel Darktail, and it recruited Pants even though it said Darktail had been recruited. Then it wouldn't let me loner anyone. The second time I tried, I was able to recruit the right person.
