How would everyone feel about using a script that requires you to use all your skills at level up and prevent skill point hording.
This way would allow a character to buy a number of skill rank in any given skill up to the number of skills he/she received that level. So if you get 10 new skill points at level 40 as a rogue you could take all 10 in UMD, or if you only got 4 skill points that level 4 would be your max.
Just an idea since alot of people seem to complain about the current system that limits you to class level +3 for a few select skills.
EDIT: I'd personally rather see if return to the standard NWN skill system, but I'm just throwing this idea out there.

Hey, I'd rather see it like NwN intended, but I thought I'd thow the idea out there to see if people liked it better than the curent system.
However, I do like to make people cry whenever possible, probably something lingering in my psyche from childhood.

I find the current system in RD to be a little biased...only certain classes suffer from the cap on umd, while others are totally unaffected. Its not like umd even has as much affect on pvp as some spells do. Like Bigby's.

Yeah...or how a sorcerer can take 1 pally level and get +16 or more to all their saves...or a cleric can get the same bonus to ac for taking 1 level of monk. Im just saying that its not fair to only limit one skill, especially one that only benefits a few classes.

I agree, the current system is rather arbitrary as I see it. If we are looking to skirt munchkinism (which I don't think we should be doing) this is not the way to do it. I can understand RP servers setting up the rules of 1 Prestige Class, or a minimum number of levels in a PC, but this is an action server.

Sure when lawful good characters could use evil align weapons and vice versa I didn't think it was possible to get enough UMD to use the Azure Doom it you were not CE. I know there use to be a Chimaeran who had 120ish UMD buffed and could not use it.
