I don't mean crafting uber gear...just plain old changing the appearance of armour, helms, shields etc. Not being of great technical competence when it comes to mods and things, is there a reason why we cant do the full range of crafting in RD? I like wearing a cape and one of those hats with a feather myself And I always liked changing my shield designs as well. Is it possible to allow this on RD? It would be cool if say Kindred could all have shields with skulls on etc I want a Cape!

I'm actually not 100% sure if this is possible on NWN without adding custom appearances and hakpaks. The reason you can't colour shields in NWN is because there are, literally, about 12 different kinds of shield look. Kind of lame I know, but at least the armor system is pretty customizable.

the Mods I have played in the past that could craft in this way required CEP but nothing else - I am assuming this is why they would have such great crafting abilities? Does RD run without CEP?

Yes, RD is without CEP, and CEP does allow for alot more customized armor, weapon, shield, and helm appearances.

The point of RD is that it is easily accesible to everyone... ppl without CEP will be forced to download it so they can play... and how well does a "you are missing some files, login to server failed" msg affect starting players?

The point of RD is that it is easily accesible to everyone... ppl without CEP will be forced to download it so they can play... and how well does a "you are missing some files, login to server failed" msg affect starting players? Yeh it could possibly effect somebody, somewere but the way I look at it is that anyone who plays NWN online is probably going to have CEP installed. And are there really that many totally new to NWN players still out there? New to mod? Yes. New to NWN? Not many. The unfortunate fact is that barring a major catastrophe with NWN2, NWN's days are very soon coming to an end. I know it's been mentioned about keeping the mod running after NWN2 release but realisticaly how long will that be for? I don't think there are going to be brand new to game players coming on to RD in any great numbers. So again yes somebody, somewere may be affected but hey they can download CEP anytime they feel like and it opens up some great opportunities in game. I think most players probably already have CEP in fact I honestly thought that all mods used it now anyway.

I got NWN one of the first days it landed on the shelf and I've never downloaded, nor really looked at the CEP. And that would be why I'm reluctant to get it. I'd like to know it inside and out before putting it in. And how long would that take?

I downloaded CEP once... it didnt bring anything oh-so-good imo, so when i formated the comp (thus installing NWN again), i didnt download it... and as Messiah, i have NWN from the week it came out.
CEP gives some nice things about armor, helmet etc. looks... and gives some interesting new placables etc. but nothing that is so very special imo.
Oh and Messiah, CEP is quite a big hunch to know inside out, the best you can do is download the CEP, you have a module in there that shows off what it does (i think its named "The CEP introduction module" or something like that).

First-Commenting about CEP-It's come a long way, offers a large amount of customizable items, skins, features, placeables, NPC's, creatures and tilesets. For a builder adream come true. *drools over tileset and creature base ;D It's my understanding that it has been fan base tested and moreorless approved by Bioware. Downloading is a snap. For more information: nwvault.ign.com/cep/I can live with whatever decisions are or were for RD Second-Topic of the Post:Are we able to craft Epic traps? If not, is there a possibility we would be able to? I will offer my services to make this dream a reality if need be... *Thought* Rogues are not the strongest of the bunch, not really a fighter, not really a caster. I would love to be able to use the Rouges skills as intended *sets trap then kneels behind enemy while clan-mate pushes them into it . Unfortunatly, even the highest level trap craftable would not come close to damaging said opponent if they were Epic levels and wearing even the most basic of gear found within Dominia. This makes the craft trap skill mute--- unless I am missing something?? Thanks!

I'm for CEP. HOWEVER, I originally stopped by Rd 4 years ago because it didn't require CEP. I stayed because of the atmosphere, but started because it was CEP'less. I could go either way.
That said, there are 247 areas and 617 monster blueprints. Not to mention custom items, stores, placeables, ect, ect. Who's going to modify and update all of that. OH, THAT WOULD BE HELM. F that, no CEP.

Normal arrows could be ugradable with few normal gems, an appropiate scroll ("fire arrows" scroll for fire arrows for instance) and 20k gp.
Upgraded fire arrows could look like this: +4 peircing 2d6 Fire
