The server will be down this weekend as I clean the PC and add some game updates. I will have her back up by Sunday!

Tragic news folks. Seems the drive has finally shit the bed.Before you rant let me remind everyone that I do indeed take many precautions to ensure we have security and proper back ups but to be honest, did not take the added effort of adding RAID, Redundancy or Scheduled Jobs to perform said back ups (I am human and honestly- there was not enough $ in my budget or time in my calendar to go the extra mile)  I am devestated. I dont even want to THINK about the hours lost in coding or game hours in toon development..... All of us could take a hit here. So, before we all go on MASSIVE KILLING SPREE'S, I have brought the drive into work in an effort to use our technical resources to either rebuild it or take the data off. BEST CASE: I get a new drive and everything is fine. Server will be down for a week or so. Nothing is lost WORST CASE: I get a new drive and all toons are lost. The game will revert back to the release version before last. Server will be down for a week or so. Folks, you don't know how truely crushed I am by this so be gentle  I am working on it....

Be gentle NO capital letters ..... lol its OK Tempus most of us know the pain and stress you put into what you do for us to have a place to vent and play ... i feel for you and also now for silence who is now like a lost sheep with out a home. |

It wont be the first time our world is turned up side down.
We lived though resets and crashes trash bins one day and out the next. Locations removed replace and over all ending up in Mexico... but we still manage to come back and play again.
We know &*^% happens, its ok.
I still lov ya *HUGS ;D

I think pretty much all of us understand - and have experienced the same thing at some point in our history. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you out. In fact, I'll send you a virtual plate of cookies (since I can't send you any real ones.....)

Ahh Ha Ha Ha!!! You all are the reason I plod along! You're die hards and I love that! This hum-drum server could NEVER be where it is withOUT you. Much luv y'all.!  I have the drive with our IT guys now and have already ordered another *keeps fingers crossed* I also bought a 1 terrabyte external drive for future use. Check back frequently as I will keep everyone posted. In the meantime- lets all give Mardok something to swing from so his wailing can double as Tarzan's Rally Cry; Dragon a mat so he can instruct us on the many wise and sage-like ways one can sit idle but appear busy; Silence the bagpipes so he can play us song of woe and together, we'll all grab a whole heap-ah Raven to keep warm!! ;D |
