so, i've heard in the past that a character that is only one class at lvl 40 can get a special item made for him/her. This is only a rumor and i have heard nothing "officialy" on it. So, I pose the suggestion that "Pure Builds" (i.e. monk lvl 40, fighter lvl 40, etc.) get a special item or item set made for them. this would allow to make up for certain lacking in the character. I just finished my lvl 40 druid and he is severely lacking in AC and damage reduction. He has prety good, non boss, gear but he still gets hit like crazy and takes incredible damage from mobs that he should pwown juss my two cents, Tino

I beleive that helm makes an item for you i you make a pure character. I know this cause hes made an item for my freind Tarnos.

This was the case, however I'm not sure that it continues now. Especially after Tarnos' particular item. *smacks Glints on the hand* Bad superpower! Bad!

Yeah, that item was... interesting...
It would be nice to see some special gear for pure builds though (and I would count 30levels of a prestige class a pure build too, not just 40 of the base class)...

Personally I think an XP + Gold bonus for every level you take beyond 30 in a class would be better than an item. Say 10% TNL in XP and 10000 x LVL gold. Gives gold farmers something to do besides farm the same areas over and again, or do it with added boostage, and prevents the "X's item is teh g0dleh bugged and mine is just crap" arguements.

I am willing to accept all ideas reguarding this matter as I too agree that a Pure Blood is greatly at a disadvantage.
As far as specific items go, throw some ideas out here; what works, what's good but not too good, etc., and I will run it up the Realm of Immortals flagpole (DM body). If it flies, I will make and issue them to players.

"Superpower"?? You mean the turning people into cows? I honestly would rather turn people into chickens!

Regardless of the change, it was the effect of the polymorph that caused major problems. "Superpower" was referring to Glints himself.

Lets get some ideas going folks. What items make sense for a pure blood and what would they be? State the class and item(s) *We reserve the right to alter suggestions to match current game environment*
Rules: No "On Hit" properties No "Polymorphing" Must be in-line with current high level gear
Here are some samples: ------Druid------- Shield: tower 50% weight reduction AC +7 (ac shield mod) Bludgeon Resist 20/- Slashing Resist 20/- Regen +3
Ring: Regen +2 Wis +2 Bonus Spell- 4,6,7,8,9 AC +2 (natural armor mod)
Helm: AC +6 (natural armor mod) Concetration +4 Regen +3 Feer Imune
Boots: AC +3 (dodge mod) DR +20 soak 10 damage Haste Regen +2

Helm and ring both cover Deflect mod.
I'd suggest a flat list of items if we are going that option. Available for public perusal. Non-drop naturally.
Still think a non-item option is better. But meh.

If the "reward" for pure builds are items, I would suggest that we only get one piece, chosen randomly... they should all be non-drop too.
But maybe Karma is right, I think that something else (not items) would be better too... maybe you can raise some of your stats/skills? Maybe pure builds get an amount of "points" and then they can upgrade their character in various ways - getting 1 epic feat is 10 points, raising one of your skills by 1 is 1 point, one of the random non-drop 40class items is 20 points etc...

I agree with boosting the PC rather than giving him/her gear. Helm could alter the .bic in Leto to add just about anything. Perhaps as NMB says you could get a couple Epic feats, or x amount of skill pts, or even x amount added to ability scores.

Tempus,
I like the idea of a special item (perhaps build in class restriction so the item does not get passed around) for a pure build. I too am building a pure druid, and ... he sucks bad at well, almost everything. How about a super sickle (classic Druid equipment)?
I guess I am suggesting items that will make the class act more like the class is expected to act:
For a 40 Rogue, something that provides HIPS? For a 40 Ranger, a good bow that does not run out of arrows? For a 40 Pally, a Holy Avenger? For a 40 Cleric, a wand of unlimited heals? For a 40 Sorc, a wand of unlimited IGMS? For a 40 Wiz, a staff of SR 40? For a 40 Fighter, a +12 Sword? For a 40 Barbarian, a +12 GS? For a 40 Bard, a Harp of Perform + 20?
And the list goes on ... but you get my drift.

Nice.. all wonderful suggestions from great minds! Thanx guys Thanos, you are correct about the Immunity stuff. Forgot to mention it but kind of let it slide because possibly immunity to something rather benign () would be acceptable. Karma and Nightmare, both valid points. I have added them into the equation.
